New York (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) - Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen recording group The Academy Is... have unveiled details of their new five-song EP. "LOST IN PACIFIC TIME - THE AP/EP" will be available digitally at all DSPs on September 22nd, with physical copies available exclusively for purchase at any of the AP Tour stops as well as the Fueled By Ramen webstore (located at https://store.fueledbyramen.com).

"LOST IN PACIFIC TIME - THE AP/EP" celebrates TAI's co-headline role on Alternative Press' hugely anticipated "AP Tour." Dubbed "The Fall Ball '09 Tour, Presented By AP" the trek launches at Clutch Cargo's in Pontiac, Michigan on September 25th and then traverses North America through mid-November (see itinerary below). TAI will be joined on the tour by fellow co-headliners Mayday Parade, as well as Set Your Goals, The Secret Handshake, and You Me At Six.

As is "AP Tour" tradition, The Academy Is... will be featured on the cover of the next issue of Alternative Press. The magazine's November 2009 issue hits newsstands everywhere on October 6th.

"LOST IN PACFIC TIME - THE AP/EP" gathers five brand-new TAI tracks including "I'm Yours Tonight," which premieres today at Alternative Press' www.altpress.com. In addition, AP is offering fans their first glimpse of their favorite band's cover shot, two weeks before the magazine's official release.

The new EP follows TAI's acclaimed third album, "FAST TIMES AT BARRINGTON HIGH," which proved the Chicago-based band's most highly praised to date. Rolling Stone included the 2008 collection in its annual "Albums of the Year" round-up, hailing the "soaring post-punk ode to senior year" as "thrillingly alive," with "enough wrenching graduation-day wistfulness to fill a thousand yearbooks." What's more, "About A Girl," was named among Rolling Stone's "Singles of the Year," earning special mention for a "hook (that) is classic Cheap Trick."

The Academy Is... placed second in Alternative Press' "Readers Poll '08," coming in as the No 2 favorite for "Band of the Year" and "Live Band," while "FAST TIMES AT BARRINGTON HIGH" came in as first runner-up on the magazine's "Album of the Year" tally. Elsewhere, Newsday declared "FAST TIMES AT BARRINGTON HIGH" to be one of "The Best of 2008," noting that the band's "impossibly catchy pop-rock" is "built for repeated listening and boozy sing-alongs."

As ever, The Academy Is... toured hard behind the album's release, co-headlining Vans Warped Tour '08, traveling the world with such like-minded bands as Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen's own Panic At The Disco and Cobra Starship, and topping a series of their own sold-out tours.
