NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Loud & Proud/ Roadrunner Records) - New Loud & Proud/Roadrunner roster addition Methods of Mayhem announced today an innovative and truly "interactive" concept for an album collaboration. The Tommy Lee-fronted ensemble is inviting fans, musicians, maniacs and anyone with a great idea to help record their upcoming album. Participants will also have a chance to perform with the band at their record release show. The album, entitled "Public Mayhem," is set for release in early 2010.

An excited Tommy Lee says, "This is a dream come true project where I get to play with the entire world's creativity and add it to mine. That will produce something truly mind-blowing and amazing!!!" Producer Scott Humphrey (Mo"tley Cru"e, Rob Zombie, The Crystal Method) elaborates, "The original Methods of Mayhem project that we did 10 years ago was a collaboration with some of the biggest artists of the day. The Public Mayhem project is a collaboration with the entire world."

To watch Tommy Lee and Scott Humphrey explain the concept's inception, visit either of the following sites: www.thepublicrecord.com or https://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/video/view.aspx?songID=2626.

Starting on October 5th, isolated instrument tracks, or stems, will be posted on the website www.thepublicrecord.com. Participants can download the stems and add their own musical ideas, including original recordings, song mixes, arrangements and more. Stems will be available via a wide range of formats including RiffWorks, WAV, Logic, GarageBand, ProTools and the Four Track 3.0 iPhone application.

A charitable donation will be made on behalf of all participants to the MusiCares Foundation. Established by The Recording Academy in 1989, MusiCares provides emergency health and human services and addiction recovery resources to music people in need. Whether artists or other industry professionals, MusiCares is there with a safety net of support for those who have given the gift of music to our lives.

Following the launch, video and sound updates will be posted at www.ThePublicRecord.com featuring submission highlights and weekly giveaways for the best audio and video entries.

Methods of Mayhem broke onto the scene in 1999 with their self-titled debut, which went on to become RIAA Gold certified. The album featured Snoop Dogg, Kid Rock and Fred Durst among others. The band was a main force of Ozzfest 2000.
