SANTA MONICA, Calif. (Top40 Charts/ Latin Recording Academy) - Fabian Perez has been named the official artist of the 10th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards, it was announced today by The Latin Recording Academy. Perez's artwork will be proudly used as the official image for the world's premier Latin music event and will grace the cover of the 10th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards invitation, show tickets, poster, program book, and other important applications. The commissioned artwork was unveiled today at a press conference in Los Angeles announcing this year's Latin GRAMMY nominees.

"We are excited to have an artist with such understanding and enthusiasm for Latin culture and its music," said Latin Recording Academy President Gabriel Abaroa. "Fabian's timeless artwork is filled with energy and emotion. His piece brings a human element to our artwork, a first in Latin GRAMMY history, that captures the excitement and passion of the performer. It is a perfect fit for celebrating 10 years of the Latin GRAMMY Awards."

Though born in Argentina, Perez has lived in a number of international locations including the U.S., Italy and Japan. His travels, relationships and everyday interactions give him the experiences of different lives and cultures, which he uses as inspiration for his art. His paintings - done mostly in acrylic - have themes of music, dancing, romance and raw energy and convey a sense of seduction, sensitivity and fiery passion. Perez prefers not to categorize his work, rather leaving it open, not only to him creatively as an artist, but for the observer as well to determine the story being told in each piece.

Perez has always had a passion for art and at age 6, he was already doing portraits and giving his art to his friends and family. Early in his career, he participated in a number of group exhibitions in museums and galleries and in 2002 staged his breakthrough exhibition at the Tamara Bane Gallery in Los Angeles. To date, he has participated in more than 130 solo exhibitions worldwide including Australia, China, and Europe. Perez has a busy 2010 schedule, which includes being commissioned by the United States Olympic committee to create images for the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. He is scheduled to have numerous one man-exhibitions throughout the year including stops in England, New York and the South Pacific.

The 10th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards will be held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on Nov. 5 and will be broadcast live on the Univision Network at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT. In addition, the broadcast also will be distributed internationally to more than 110 countries. For more information, please visit www.latingrammy.com.
