New York (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - "Bluegrass rock stars" (Jambase) Yonder Mountain String Band will unleash their "dazzling chops" (Rolling Stone) on NYC October 17th at the Nokia Theater, with openers Railroad Earth.
Yonder Mountain hit No 1 on the Billboard bluegrass chart with their just-released 5th studio album 'The Show', but the thousands of fans who packed Red Rocks for their hometown album release show August 28 would tell you that the best way to experience the group is live.
Charlie Englar (Jambase) writes, "Bearing witness to a sold-out Red Rocks (10,000 strong) dancing their asses off for a bluegrass band was a unique experience and it was clear everyone in attendance was feeling it," while the Denver Post stated simply "Yonder Mountain String Band certainly knows how to throw a party."
Jeff Austin (mandolin), Ben Kaufmann (bass), Dave Johnston (banjo) and Adam Aijala (guitar) fill their set lists with fan favorites from their 10-year deep catalogue and inventive covers of some of their favorite songs by bands like David Byrne, The Beatles, Elvis Presley, and more.
