MIAMI, Fl. (Top40 Charts/ Aliucha Music) - Aly Tejas, the accomplished Cuban-born ballet accompanist now based in Miami, Florida, has released her fourth ballet CD titled
Music From Within: A Tribute to Martha Mahr in honor of the late renowned ballet mistress.
Martha Mahr, a legend of the ballet world whose career spanned over 60 years, passed away in June.
Having worked for Miss Mahr in her well-known academy in Miami for almost seven years, Aly felt a musical tribute to Miss Mahr's passion for classical ballet was, in her own words, 'the best and only way to truly honor her.'
Music From Within is piano accompaniment for a complete ballet class with a total of over 52 minutes of music. Although Aly's three previous releases are similar in style, this recording pays homage to Martha's lifelong dedication to classical ballet in particular.
In addition, this is the first time Aly names some of the tracks instead of referring to them as exercises, as in previous recordings.
According to Aly, these track names were as present during the writing process as the melodies and the memory of Martha were, and every effort was made to get as much inspiration from the memory of Martha as possible, even going so far as to sneak into Martha's academy to record the introductory exercises.
Sadly, Martha Mahr did not have a successor for her renowned ballet school and it thus was closed at the end of July. For those who know ballet, it is truly the end of an era.
Music From Within: A Tribute to Martha Mahr is available at www.AlyTejas.com and will soon be available on CDBaby, iTunes, and many other music providers.
Whether or not one is a ballet enthusiast, it is evident in the music that Miss Mahr represented beauty, style, grace, and passion, and this recording is only a humble attempt to honor her legacy.
