NASHVILLE, Tennessee (CCMA Official Website)- In celebration of its 27th anniversary, the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA), together with the CBC and CMT Canada, has announced the nominees for the Year 2003 Awards Presentation.

Topping the list of 2003 Canadian Country Music Awards nominees is eight-time nominee, Shania Twain. The international superstar is a finalist in every major membership-voted category including two nominations for "CMT Video of the Year." In company with the Dixie Chicks, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith and Anne Murray, Twain adds the eighth win potential with a nomination for "Top Selling Album" (a non-voting category).

Newcomer Aaron Lines received nominations in six categories and multiple CCMA award winner, Terri Clark, received five nominations. Fan favorites, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Adam Gregory, Brad Johner and Lisa Brokop scored with two nominations a piece, and award show host, Paul Brandt, acquired nominations for "Male Artist of the Year and the "Fans' Choice Award."

The 27th Annual Canadian Country Music Awards Show is scheduled to take place Monday, September 8, 2003, at Calgary's Pengrowth Saddledome. The star-studded show will include live performances from many of this year's final list of nominees as well as an international act. (To be named in the coming weeks). The show will be broadcast live on the CBC at 8:00 PM EST, on CMT in the US, and a later broadcast on CMT Canada.
