NEW YORK (Jewel Official Website) - Atlantic recording artist
Jewel has announced the first leg of her eagerly anticipated 2003 tour of North America. The month-long itinerary kicks off on
September 19th in North Charleston, South Carolina and wraps up in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 18th. This initial segment of Jewel's cross-country tour will play markets in the east and midwest, with additional regions slated to follow later this year.
Jewel's upcoming concert tour coincides with the great success of her latest album, the RIAA gold-certified "0304" - which debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 album chart, simultaneously becoming both the highest-debuting and highest-charting album of her eight-year career. The album's first single, "Intuition," has broken into the top ten on the national Top 40 Mainstream/CHR and Top 40 Adult/Hot AC charts. In addition, special remixes of the song hit #1 Billboard's "Hot Dance Music Club Play" chart.
In other Jewel news, she will return to NBC-TV's Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Wednesday, August 6th. She last appeared on the show on June 2nd, heralding the arrival of "0304" with a special eve-of-release performance. The following week, on August 13th, Jewel will be featured on the new WB television live music series, Pepsi Smash.
