NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Jive Records) - Acclaimed singer/songwriter Anthony Hamilton received three Grammy nominations for Best R&B Album and Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for his fifth studio album, The Point Of It All and the title track. The North Carolina native also earned a third nomination for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance for "Soul Music" a track from the 2008 Soul Men movie (which featured Samuel L. Jackson and the late Bernie Mac).

This brings Hamilton's total Grammy nominations throughout his musical career to ten. Last year, Hamilton won his first Grammy Award for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance for collaboration with Al Green, "You Got The Love I Need."

Hamilton released The Point Of It All on SoSo Def/Jive Records last December and the project garnered widespread critical attention. Entertainment Weekly declared Hamilton has "a voice that bridges seduction and gospel fervor." Boston Globe raved, "His singing...is flawless and expressive...Anthony Hamilton has proven himself to be one of the logical heirs to Marvin Gaye." Remarking on Hamilton's stature in the musical landscape of R&B, USA Today described him as "one of the genre's rare singers."

The album spawned two successful Top 5 singles on the Urban Adult Contemporary chart, "Cool" featuring David Banner and the title track "The Point Of It All" which has been a Top 15 staple on the chart for over six months.
