NASHVILLE, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Left Of Center Records) - Shortly following the New Year is the newest recording from Grammy-winning producer, artist and prominent resonator guitarist, Randy Kohrs, entitled "
Quicksand", due out January 12th, 2010, on Rural Rhythm records. An all-acoustic project that pulls from several genres, ranging from blues to classic country, this will be his fifth release and the first since early 2007.
Continuing the 'new' theme, the official Randy Kohrs website, www.randykohrs.com, has also received a virtual makeover to reflect a much more contemporary image in keeping with today's ever-evolving online capabilities and stylistic standards. Working closely with the tech-savvy Matt Smith, of Dynamic Site Source, Kohrs is confident the final results accurately represent the innovatively progressive sound of his unique musical style. Notably, anxious fans will be able to ensure they receive a first copy of the highly-anticipated Quicksand with the convenient pre-order form on the 'store' page of the website. As an extra-enticing incentive, the first ten pre-ordered CD's will arrive in the consumer's mailbox autographed!
At first click, visitors to the site will be introduced to never-before heard songs from "Quicksand" through a few sound clips. A video shown on the homepage, shot by the talented singer/songwriter and upcoming filmmaker, Marcel, reveals Kohrs up-close and personal as he casually speaks a bit about his extensive, multi-faceted career and his thoughts on the upcoming release. Another video, filmed the same day as the aforementioned, artfully depicts an intimate, live performance of the song, 'Shallow Grave', from his last CD, "Old Photograph".
In addition to information on Kohrs' artist career, there is also a page dedicated to his recording facility, Slack Key Studio. A walk-through video tour, again filmed by Marcel, highlights Kohrs' funky, innovative style seen in every aspect of the structure, from his four individual recording booths to the kitchen that was once featured on the Rachael Ray Show as one of the 'coolest kitchens in America.'
