New York (Top40 Charts/ Warner Bros. Records) - -British Modern rock is alive and well thanks to Home Counties heroes THE CRIBS whose current album, IGNORE THE IGNORANT, is an unqualified smash in the UK and continues to earn rave reviews here in the U.S.: '...An even more awesome Brit-popdream...They've also expanded their Strokes-Libertines sounds to include thornier alt-rock moods, somewhere between New Order and Nirvana, and perfect for singer Gary Jarman's come-ons. The Cribs are following a forked path to a great catharsis.' - Rolling Stone

'The now-quartet have expanded their sound...another pile of consistently great pop songs.' - Alternative Press

'One of the UK's best bands are about to find themselves in an even brighter spotlight.' - Nylon

'As far as wish fulfillment goes, the Jarman brothers are second to nobody.' - Stereogum.com

As previously reported, THE CRIBS are slated to return to the States in January-see dates below-where their American audiences are ever-growing and manic, demanding as much as the Jarman/Marr axis can dish out. On Monday, Jan 18, 2010, THE CRIBS will perform live on NBC's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Air time is 12:35am PST, 11:35pm CT. Check local listings for details.

In other news, THE CRIBS will record a full-electric mini-session for AOL Music's Interface show on January 26th. We will pass along the air date as soon as it's confirmed.

Meanwhile IGNORE THE IGNORANT continues its upward trajectory in the UK where the band can do no wrong, placing in most year-end 'Best of' lists for 2009:

Mojo Magazine - Top 50 Albums of 2009, at No 11

N.M.E. - '50 Best Albums of 2009'

N.M.E. - '50 Best Tracks of 2009' with "Cheat On Me"

AOL Music's Spinner.Com Top 25 Best British Songs of the 2000s.
