TORONTO, CANADA (Top40 Charts/ Dan Kosub Official Website) - Would you prefer a deliciously infectious melody, or a deliciously melodic infection? Either way, Dan Kosub has it in spades. Kosub is a Toronto singer/songwriter who has set himself apart by carving out his own musical niche, combining silky vocals with a penchant for experimental Druidic folk-pop and an unassailable desire to rock. His music is inspired by influences as diverse as the lyrically hyper-literate macabre of the
Decemberists and Jesca Hoop, to the soulful wails of Ray Lamontagne and Bruce Springsteen.
Kosub is currently on his second cross-Canada tour, promoting his debut album Reservoir and building anticipation for his follow-up album, tentatively titled Jacob's Island. As a result of his relentless regional and national touring over the last few years, as well as national airplay on Much More Music for his song and video 'Blue & Grey,' Kosub is playing solo and full-band shows to packed clubs across the country. Touring being his most prominent muse, Kosub is fervently writing new music on the road and regularly posting online videos of new material to give live and online audiences a taste of the album to come.
Upon returning to Toronto in March, Kosub plans to release two more official videos for songs on Reservoir. One is the infectious rocker 'I'll Never Know', the other is the darker, environmentally conscious 'Gone by 2040,' a song inspired by a CBC article speculating on the future of the global ice caps. Kosub will head into the studio to record the follow-up to Reservoir later this year.
Canadian audiences are sitting up and taking notice of this quirky and irreverent singer/songwriter, as he rides a self-propelled wave of musical momentum and creativity. https://www.dankosub.com/ https://www.myspace.com/danielkosub
