Debbie Harry explains her blonde style

FRANKFURT, Germany (Spiegel magazine) - Debbie Harry says Marilyn Monroe made her decide to go blonde.

The Blondie singer told Spiegel magazine she even imagined herself to be the actress's daughter. "When I was a little girl, I imagined I was Marilyn's daughter because I knew my parents had adopted me."

Harry told the magazine she wanted to be just as sexy and popular as Marilyn Monroe. "I wanted to be like her, that's why I decided to dye my hair."

These days, Harry says her favourite blonde is Doris Day. "I dream of playing her in a film," she said. "She was a great dancer as a child, then had to give up her dancing dream after an accident.
I admire people who don't let anything stop them and persevere."
