New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Jayme Stone Official Website) - Canadian banjo player Jayme Stone and Malian kora master/singer Yacouba Sissoko are gearing up for their April 2010 tour. They will be making stops in Traverse City, MI, Chicago, Louisville, Waterville, ME and Brownfield, ME.
Stone's 2008 album, Africa to Appalachia, is a collaborative album with another Sissoko - griot/kora player Mansa Sissoko. It's the culmination of a seven-week journey to Mali where he went to immerse himself in the high-spirited soundscapes, daily life and lore of Africa.
After two years of touring in Canada, the US and the UK and a Juno Award for Best World Music album of the year, the project continues to evolve.
Stone and (Yacouba) Sissoko will be joined on tour by fiddle phenom Mike Barnett, innovative bassist Brandi Disterheft and percussionist extraordinaire Nick Fraser.
