San Francisco, CA (Top40 Charts/ Episcopal Charities) - Bringing together San Francisco Bay Area's finest chefs for a sensory evening of celebration, this year's Episcopal Charities Night of Light will be held on May 21, 2010 within the architectural spectacle of Grace Cathedral (www.gracecathedral.org) on Nob Hill. The cathedral has become an international pilgrimage center for church-goers and visitors alike, famed for its mosaics by De Rosen, a replica of Ghiberti's Gates of Paradise, two labyrinths, varied stained glass windows, Keith Haring AIDS Chapel altarpiece, and medieval and contemporary furnishings.

The Italian-themed evening will commence with a reception in Grace Cathedral with antipasti by RISTOBAR Executive Chef Angelo Auriana. Following the reception, the space of the cathedral will be energized by a concert featuring Real Vocal String Quartet and their special guest, Jeremy Kittle of the Turtle Island String Quartet. The group will offer world-fusion chamber music that uniquely combines the textures of a classical string quartet with intriguing vocals.

To top off the evening, following the concert will be dinner and dancing including a three-course dinner prepared by Ruggero Gadaldi (Executive Chef, Antica Trattoria, Beretta, Delarosa and Pesce), Suzette Gresham-Tognetti (Executive Chef, Acquerello), and Gary Rulli (Proprietario di Ristorante and Pastry Master, Emporio Rulli Caffe & Ristorante). Dancing in the cathedral will be to the music of Larry Lynch & the Mob.
For over 30 years, Episcopal Charities has supported new and existing nonprofit agencies in their effort to make a crucial difference in the lives of poor, oppressed, and endangered individuals in the five-county San Francisco Bay Area, regardless of their religious affiliation or practice. Proceeds from the event will support Episcopal Charities ongoing work. Tickets are available for the reception/concert and may be purchased online at www.episcopalcharities.org/nol.html. Corporate and individual sponsorship opportunities are available.
