NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mavericks Official Website) - The Mavericks announced today plans to tour for the remainder of 2003 in support of their self-titled reunion album The Mavericks, to be released later this month. Featuring dates in both the United States and Europe, the tour kicks off in the band's hometown of Nashville on
September 17th.
The tour, the recently reunited Grammy-winning group's first in six years, promises to deliver a hit-packed live set comprised of old favorites and several songs from their new album, set for US release September 23rd on Sanctuary Records. The Mavericks will be released in Europe on September 22nd.
The critically acclaimed band, Raul Malo (lead vocals/guitar), Robert Reynolds (bass), Paul Deakin (drums), and newest member Eddie Perez (guitar/harmony vocals), played a few dates together earlier this summer prior to recording their new album, and the shows were hailed by critics as "a loose, rocking party" (Cincinnati Enquirer), and "a joy to see them back....Malo could sing a tax form and make an auditor believe every word" (Atlanta Journal & Constitution).
Joining The Mavericks on the US tour dates is the Hot Club of Cowtown.
