Los Angeles, CA (TOP40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) -- Atlantic Records has announced the upcoming release of "AVATAR: MUSIC FROM THE MOTION PICTURE - DELUXE EDITION." The new release -- which appends six previously unreleased bonus tracks from James Horner's Academy Award-nominated score -- arrives at all digital retailers on Tuesday, April 20th. Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment's North American Blu-ray/DVD release of Oscar-winning filmmaker James Cameron's epic adventure AVATAR follows on Earth Day, April 22nd.

Composed and conducted by James Horner, "AVATAR: MUSIC FROM THE MOTION PICTURE" has received an array of prestigious honors, including an Oscar-nomination in the "Music (Original Score)" category, as well as Golden Globe nominations for "Best Original Score" and "Best Original Song - Motion Picture." The album is highlighted by AVATAR's end title song, "I See You (Theme From Avatar)," performed by multiple Grammy Award-nominated singer Leona Lewis, with lyrics by Simon Franglen, Kuk Harrell, and James Horner, and music by Horner and Franglen, the same team behind Titanic's Academy Award-winning score and theme song, "My Heart Will Go On."

One of the world's most prolific and celebrated film composers, James Horner has earned two Academy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards for his music from James Cameron's Titanic -- including "Best Original Score" and "Best Original Song" (for "My Heart Will Go On"). He has also received eight additional Academy Award nominations, eight additional Golden Globe nods, and six Grammy Awards, including "Song of the Year" in both 1987 (for An American Tail's "Somewhere Out There") and 1998 (for Titanic's "My Heart Will Go On").

Since its global theatrical release last December, AVATAR has continued to make motion picture history. The Oscar and Golden Globe-winning epic is the highest grossing film of all time, taking in over $2.6 billion in worldwide box office. Director James Cameron (Titanic, Aliens, The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, True Lies, The Abyss), takes audiences to a spectacular world beyond imagination, where a reluctant hero embarks on a journey of redemption and discovery as he leads a heroic battle to save a civilization. AVATAR delivers a fully immersive cinematic experience of a new kind, where the revolutionary technology invented to make the film disappears into the emotion of the characters and the epic nature of the story.

AVATAR stars Sam Worthington (Terminator Salvation), Zo Saldana (Star Trek), Stephen Lang (Public Enemies, The Fugitive), Michelle Rodriguez (Lost, Fast & Furious), and Sigourney Weaver (Aliens, Galaxy Quest). The film is written by James Cameron and produced with his longtime collaborator Jon Landau.

The ultimate high definition experience for home viewing audiences, AVATAR will be available on Blu-ray and DVD everywhere in the United States and Canada on Earth Day, April 22. Internationally, the roll out begins April 21 ending May 6. An ultimate edition release with immersive bonus materials is slated for November. Connecting the two releases in April and November is "The Avatar Program," an interactive consumer experience that offers an online hub for exclusive content, discounts and more.
