Burbank, CA (TOP40 Charts/ Warner Bros. Records) --
Fresh off a triumphant spring North American tour and headlining appearance at Coachella, British rock trio Muse have announced dates, venues, and ticket on-sale dates for the second leg of their Resistance Tour. The autumn headlining trek begins
September 22nd in San Diego, CA and continues through November 6th where it concludes in Cincinnati. Please see below for all confirmed dates. More dates will be announced soon.
A fan pre-sale begins on April 21st (please check the band's website, www.muse.mu) for details. Tickets go on sale to the general public on April 24th. Tickets for shows in Charlottesville and St. Louis go on sale April 23rd.
Of Muse's March 5th show at Madison Square Garden, the New York Times wrote: "Every song in its set aimed to be a showstopper by any means necessary: a bashing, bruising riff; portentous classical-music arpeggios and chord progressions; a speeding, squealing lead guitar; a vocal that pours on the vibrato as it climbs; an explosive crescendo into the homestretch."
The band is touring in support of their fifth studio album The Resistance, which earned Muse their highest-ever debut on the Billboard album chart when it bowed at No. 3. Muse's previous album, 2006's gold Black Holes and Revelations, peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard album chart. The Resistance also notched 20 No. 1 debuts around the world, including Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, and the U.K. The album's first single, "Uprising," topped Mediabase's Alternative Rock chart for 19 consecutive weeks, breaking the record for number of consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Mediabase Alternative Rock chart for the 2009 calendar year.
The Resistance was produced by Muse and mixed by famed audio engineer Mark 'Spike' Stent. The band is vocalist/guitarist Matt Bellamy, bassist Chris Wolstenholme, and drummer Dom Howard.
