Music Latin Entertainment) artists took over the Coliseum of Puerto Rico last night with explosive presentations and 34 awards. The night opened with pop diva
Paulina Rubio who premiered her latest club oriented single -"ALGO DE TI" accompanied by Wyclef Jean. Paulina took home the Latin Pop Airplay - Female artist award. Also one of the opening acts were
Banda Los Recoditos who gave the Mexican touch by making everyone dance to their latest smash hit "
Ando Bien Pedo".
The first award of the night was given to El Trono de Mexico in the category of "Best Regional Mexican Album" for "Almas Gemelas" one of the most outstanding artists of the moment and they took both of the awards that they were nominated for including, "Regional Mexican Album of the Year - duo or group".
Larry Hernandez surprisingly received the award for "Best New Artist" a once in a lifetime opportunity for a debuting artists.
David Bisbal also performed for the first time on live TV his new single - "24 Horas".
Leading the way in nominations with 18, Tito El Bambino put the romantic urban touch with his mega hits "El Amor" and "Te Pido Perdon".
La Original Banda el Lim??n de Salvador Liz?�rraga performed their latest hit single - "Al Menos', currently Topping the charts and sharing their Sinaloense music with the world.
Fresh off her first Latin American tour, international super star Nelly Furtado performed MANOS AL AIRE - first single off her award winning Spanish language album MI PLAN.
Latin Pop Airplay winner and Puerto Rico's own - Luis Fonsi - alongside with vocal group NOTA, performed a beautiful rendition of "Aunque Estes Con El". For second year in a row, he received a the award Tu Mundo, chosen by the fans online.
The night's highest honor went to Regional Mexican legend, Marco Antonio Solis, who received the "Artist of the Decade Award" for his ongoing presence and influence in Latin music. He dedicated the awards to his fans. Later, he went on to perform a six-song medley of his most iconic songs- including Donde Estara Mi Primavera, No Molestar, Si No Te Hubieras Ido, Mas Que Tu Amigo - which earned him yet another standing ovation by the more than 20,000 people in attendance.
Other top winners were Regional Mexican duo. Los Temerarios, who were recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
The night ended with an explosive and over the top performance by latin urban super duo Wisin & Yandel, who performed their latest single TE SIENTO off of their multiplatinum award winning La Revolucion - The Evolution. With flying dancers falling from the ceiling and an impressive pyro show, Wisin & Yandel got the party started for what was a true celebratory night for UMLE and its artists.
Amongst the presenters were pianist Arthur Hanlon, Venezuela urban duo Chino & Nacho - who's single Ni?�a Bonita, currently holds the No 1 spot on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs. Recently signed to UMLE Ivy Queen joined Angel & Khriz to present "Regional Mexican Song of the Year", while Jowell & Randy alongside Franco "El Gorila" handed the award for Tropical Album of the Year. Another Puerto Rican native, Ana Isabel was in charge of presenting one of the most coveted awards of the night - Hot Latin Song and finally, Mexican crooner Cristian Castro presented the last award of the night "Latin Artist of the Year".
