New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Cross Harp Chronicles) - ROXY PERRY, award winning singer, songwriter, harmonica player, recording artist, and producer, known as 'NEW YORK BLUES QUEEN' for decades, has added to her list of credits with her recent induction into the BLUES HALL OF FAME as AMBASSADOR TO NEW YORK and GREAT BLUES MUSICIAN OF NEW YORK.

Inclusion in the Blues Hall of Fame is considered to be one of the highest honors a blues artist can receive. Such recognition and prestige is born of a jury of artistic peers who recognize an artist's work and accomplishments as worthy of outstanding recognition within a world of great art and music. This is a rare and outstanding achievement for an independent artist.

A lifelong native of New Rochelle, Roxy has focused five decades to performing across the United States and abroad, including the legendary Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. Her four CDs have been a staple on radio, cable Blues and Jazz channels and internet stations around the world for decades.
For the past 30 years, Roxy has given back to the tri-state music community, hosting her legendary jam sessions, which have launched the careers of many in the area.

Roxy also hosts four weekly blues radio programs on the Internet, featuring a live chat room. The New York Blues-Bird show is broadcast on KCOR - www.kconlineradio.com. Her shows are an eclectic mix of vintage, rare and independent Blues, R&B, Jazz, and Rock.

Over the years, Roxy's music and live performances have received great acclaim. Her reviews in trade magazines such as DOWNBEAT, BLUES REVUE, BLUES MATTERS, ROOTSTIME, and REAL BLUES have been flawless and glowing for all four of her releases. Her CD, BACK IN BLUESVILLE was named Best Self Produced CD at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2006. She was presented the prestigious ARTIST OF THE YEAR award form the Westchester Arts Council in 2007. Her song, "That Night in Memphis" was named SONG OF THE YEAR by Baker Street Radio in France in 2009. Her most recent CD 'IN MY SWEET TIME' was placed in the top twenty-five CDs of the year by many networks.

A child prodigy, Roxy started out fronting swing bands during the heyday of the famous Glen Island Casino in New York and performed her first concert at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California at age 9. In her early teens, she began fronting her own bands and ultimately became a regular at the famed Peppermint Lounge in Manhattan's Times Square, New York. From there, she went on a four-year tour with the pop band, Dawn, headlining with many of the superstars of the 1980's. In the mid 80's. Roxy had a single on Personal Records that remained at the top of Billboard charts for months.

It was in the late 80's that Roxy launched her Blues career. Her exciting live performances at clubs, concert halls and festivals won her the title as "the Real Deal" in blues and jazz circles around the world. She has never looked back, and continues to excite audiences everywhere with her music.
