Basic NYC Presents Sullivan Room Beach Party @ Water Taxi Beach Pier 17 On May 23, 2010

New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Basic NYC) - Outdoor dancing is one of summertime's most enjoyable pleasures, and one of New York's most unique venues is Water Taxi Beach and its three locations throughout the city. This summer, Basic NYC and Sleepy & Boo extend their partnership with Water Taxi Beach, presenting a series of Sunday soirees that bring both international guest DJs and New York talent alike to the South Street Seaport and Long Island City beaches. Their schedule kicks off this Sunday, May 23rd at the South Street Seaport, as Sleepy & Boo host the annual Sullivan Room beach bash on the Seaport Pier.

The lineup features a diverse selection of some of New York's finest DJs, with a mix of Sullivan Room regulars, guests, and Sully staff all throwing down tunes. This is the third annual Sullivan Room beach bash to be presented at the Water Taxi, and the first at the South Street Seaport venue, which was a new addition last year. Headlining the event will be Basic NYC's residents Sleepy & Boo, whose Sullivan Room Saturday night fiesta celebrated its sixth anniversary in April. As resident DJs, Sleepy & Boo anchor their night musically, setting up the room properly for their weekly lineup of special guests, which have recently featured DJs as diverse as Mark Farina, Jeff Mills, David Morales and Carl Craig, their anniversary headliner.

Birthday boy Chris Luzz, who hosts his Luzzed Up? online radio show at DI.Fm, will be dropping some of his solid deep and tech-house. 2 Damn Cheeky and Samsara, both frequent Sullivan Room DJs, will keep things moving with their own melodic and driving grooves. Sullivan Room's main man SR Serge will make his return to the turntables after an extended absence, before heading off to the Sullivan Room's Ukraine location. Adam Childs, Sullivan Room's own sound and tech ace, will help get things started, while newcomer Mikey Murph kicks the party off in style.

Over the next few months, Sleepy & Boo have the honor of bringing some of their favorite guest DJs to the Water Taxi. In June, they host three dynamic Sunday events at the Water Taxi Long Island City location, with special guests Tom Middleton (June 6th), Justin Martin (June 13th) and Satoshi Tomiie and Hector Romero (June 27th). Future guests include Fred Everything, Derrick Carter and more to be announced. With music of all styles being presented all week long, Water Taxi Beach is set to be one of New York's top destinations for summertime revelry.
