New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Lower East Side Burlesque impresaria Viva DeConcini - dubbed "Lady Axsmith" by Time Out NY- has confirmed 3 New York City shows in June supporting her new album 'Rock & Roll Lover' (out 7/13) and the next 'Rock & Roll Burlesque' on June 24. Viva, who's playing was initially inspired by the Grateful Dead, counts Eddie Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix and Gilberto Gil among her biggest influences. Her admiration for these guitarists reflects Viva's searing riffs and solos on the groove heavy songs of 'Rock & Roll Lover.' In addition to jamming with Medeski, Martin and Wood and Trey Anastasio, Viva has traveled the world playing guitar in the multicultural Brazilian ensemble Beat the Donkey and several world music bands. Viva's set, featuring a 6-piece band with full horn section, will consist of the exuberant originals on 'Rock & Roll Lover,' a cover of Bowie's "Moonage Daydream" and a wailing instrumental version of the Carole King classic "Natural Woman," which Viva calls "one of the most beautiful melodies of the last 50 years - but one Eddie Van Halen or Joe Satriani will probably never play!" Stay tuned for more details on Viva's raucous 'Rock & Roll Burlesque' on June 24.
