New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Marketing Ideals Company) - When asked about his upcoming performance, Anupam remarked, 'New York is a melting pot ~ an array of cultures coming together, sharing their food, their language and their music. I'm thrilled to present this new work to some of the most open-minded people on the planet! The music is classic ~ but not at all in the traditional sense. Listeners are in for a surprise.'

Anupam Shobhakar is a classically mentored Indian artist; trained to play sarod in the traditional Indian fashion. For years a young Anupam completed finger exercises without even picking up the instrument and playing a single note. He describes the teaching method, 'When the music comes to you, the hands will be ready. Technique isn't an issue; creating the sound is a mind/body experience that transcends contemplation.' About Anupam Shobhakar: Born in the east-Indian state of Calcutta, and raised in the state's financial capital city of Bombay, a child prodigy at age 8 and accomplished sarodist, Anupam studied under guru Ustad Aashish Khan. His passion lies within composing, playing and feeling sound and knowing that music is truly a universal language that crosses cultural, political and religious barriers. Anupam tours the globe playing classical Indian music with contemporary artists of all genres. He has recorded three albums and produced his most recent artist Leah Martin: Book of Harmony.
