New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Roadrunner Records) - The winners are in for the 2010 Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards presented by Kawasaki, and we're proud to report that Dream Theater's Mike Portnoy was awarded Best Drummer and Machine Head were awarded Best Live Band!

Portnoy reports from his FaceBook page, "Wow...I'm honored to have won Metal Hammer's Golden God award for Best Drummer tonight in London...I was in amazing company as my friends Dave McClain, Chris Adler, Dave Lombardo and Brann Dailor were also nominated and are all surely as deserving...thanks to everyone that voted for me...I will continue to work my ass off for all of you!"

As for Machine Head's win, Metal Hammer explains how they beat out the competition: "From The Black Procession to last summer's Sonisphere festival, you know when Machine Head are in town they're going to drink all of your town's vodka and play the best heavy metal show possible. Cheers fuckers!"
