New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Unsound Records) - Film composer Stefan Girardet is stepping out of the wings with his first full album of songs. Girardet has crafted a record of captivating indie electronica for the modern listener's discerning ear, releasing his debut 'Are We Here Yet?' on Unsound Records. Oozing with texture, Girardet has crafted a unique aesthetic out of experimentation with both live and acoustic elements; quirky, warm and highly original, each track is a breath of fresh air. 'Are We Here Yet?' features Girardet on vocals, keyboards, guitar and all programming; a talent that has created a wealth of soundscore gems. The album includes a co-written track entitled "Move" with Ian Dench of 90's band EMF.
Girardet's resume includes collaborations with the likes of Mansun, arranging and conducting two orchestral songs for their number one album "The Attack of the Grey Lantern" on Capitol Records, as well as Superior, arranging and conducting "Polaroid Millennium" for the film and album "The Saint" on Virgin Records. Stefan's track "Bloodlines" with acclaimed UK artists Gilbert and George (Candy Records) was described by Time Out Magazine as "The sexiest slice of art ever".
Girardet has also co-written and recorded with the Grammy nominated artist Alison Goldfrapp for the soundtrack album "Johnny and the Dead" (BMG), as well as Adrian Utley from Mercury Music Prize winners Portishead on the movie "The Confessional" which won four Genie awards. Most recently, Girardet worked with Danny Seraphine from "Chicago" and Steve Porcaro ("Toto") on songs for the movie "Lonely Street", which is set for release this Fall.
Girardet has written music and songs for several high profile film and TV projects, including "The Animal Room", and the Lions Gate Production "Spanish Fly". More recent work includes "Commute" (2002), "Mina And The Family Treasure" (2003 -exec prod. Rosie O'Donnell), "American Reunion" (2004), Devil Girl (2008) and the forthcoming horror pic "Donner Pass".
Girardet's work overseas in the UK has also been influential, including the BBC prime-time series "Keeping Mum,' the ITV drama 'Johnny and The Dead,', also "The Fictional World of Bret Easton Ellis," and "The Fundamental Gilbert and George" which won the British Academy Award in 1997 for best feature documentary.
Girardet has delivered a thirteen track masterpiece, which is destined to become a classic album touching all those that hear it.
