Philadelphia, PA (Top40 Charts/ Standing Ovation) - The cast of Standing Ovation, the biggest movie musical event of the summer set to release nationally on July 16th, boarded a beautifully branded bus in Philadelphia bound for locations across the country. With rockin' original music, this family film boasts an exciting cast of talented youth, 20 new songs and 14 never-before-seen dance numbers that will leave you feeling uplifted and ready to put on your dancin' shoes.
Standing Ovation is the creation and passion of producer Diane Kirman, who filmed it in the southern New Jersey area along the beaches of Wildwood and Cape May, using many talented newcomers from the area to give this movie a fresh exciting feel. The ensemble cast is now off in a huge colorfully wrapped bus to perform in national dance competitions across the country to promote the film. They will get your feet tapping, your hands clapping, your lips smiling, your voices singing and your hearts opening to a whole new genre of family entertainment! Cast members include:
Erika Corvette - "Angel Wiggs" - Erika has appeared in many theater productions, including portraying the lead of Dorothy in The Wiz, and acted in Grease and Young Americans. Her television credits include the lead role of twins, Keisha and Beverly, in "T K."
Jeana Zettler - "Zoey Wiggs" - Jeana's credits include: "High School Musical: Get in the Picture" on ABC and Janet Jackson's MTV show, "Prodigy." Jeana has performed the National Anthem at many New Jersey Nets games, among other sporting events. She has appeared in multiple commercial advertisements for NFL Films, Philly tourism, I-Sing Karaoke, and Pep Boys.
Ashley Cutrona - "Zita Wiggs" - Ashley has been nominated for the Perry Award for the Best Young Actress in a Play and for the Governor's School of the Arts for Musical Theatre. Her television appearances include Law & Order and The Manhattan Diaries.
Devon Jordan - "Twiggy Wiggs" - Devon has loved to act and sing ever since she was a little girl! Her film credits include M. Night Shyamalan's The Happening, How Do You Know with Reese Witherspoon and The Good Thief. She recently starred in two short PBS films in The Maple Avenue Series.
London Clark - "Ziggy Wiggs" - London has worked with numerous theater companies, performing in over twenty regional productions. She has also performed with several dance competition teams and has won numerous awards for solo as well as group performances in every style of dance.
Austin Powell - "Mark O'Brien" - a talented vocalist, Austin Powell has starred in numerous musicals, TV shows and films. He's also performed live at many of the famous hotels in Las Vegas!
Dexter Darden - "MC" - Dexter Darden is an accomplished dancer, singer and actor. You may have seen him as "Chester" in the Disney movie Minuteman, or "Charles" in Cadillac Records!
... and starring Mikey P - as himself! Mikey P is an amazing Hip-Hop artist, who also co-wrote five songs on the Standing Ovation soundtrack!
The film is written and directed by Stewart Raffill (The New Swiss Family Robinson). The executive producers are actor/producer/director James Brolin and Dr. William Lewis. The music supervisor is Sal Dupree of Dupree Performing Arts in Linwood, New Jersey.
