Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ Executive
Music Group) - Executive
Music Group and the
Dirty Heads have announced the bands' hit single "
Lay Me Down" has made history today officially tying the chart record set at Alternative radio, spending nine consecutive weeks at No 1. The last independently released single to spend as much time at No 1 was "
What It's Like" (Everlast), released on Tommy Boy over a decade ago in 1998. Additionally, "
Lay Me Down" currently holds the No 2 spot on Billboard's Rock Songs chart, following its debut over 18 weeks ago and has sold over 150,000 downloads.
"We have been very fortunate to have surrounded ourselves with a team of seasoned industry pro's that truly dedicated themselves from day one and tied together a remarkable campaign. Spearheaded by Sky Daniels at Fontana/UMG with Land Shark Promotion Studio and In2uneMusic, not only did we reach this amazing record, but we did it in 12 weeks! To all the stations that really took a chance on an unknown band and label, we thank you!" said Jacob Capricciuolo, President of Executive Music Group.
"We are very happy for The Dirty Heads and Rome. They both have a long future ahead of them. As for Executive Music Group, we are excited to begin introducing our other artists, The McClymonts (country), Portable Payback (Hip Hop), ZACPOOR (Pop), Shane Harper (Pop), Zoo Seven (Rock), BBSR (Rap) and of course a new single from the Dirty Heads!" said Jimmy Swan, Vice President of Executive Music Group.
Last week, the music video debut of The Dirty Heads hit single "Lay Me Down" made its official video premiere exclusively on the MTV Networks and can now be viewed HERE.
Executive Music Group recently released the expanded, 22-track, special edition of The Dirty Heads debut album "Any Port in a Storm," through Fontana, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group and continues to chart on both the Billboard 200 and Billboard's Top Independent Albums Chart. Recently named one of the "Best New Bands of 2010" by Rolling Stone, Billboard says "those searching for the song of the summer will find a solid contender in 'Lay Me Down'."
The Dirty Heads are currently on a U.S. summer concert tour with Sublime with Rome, as well as performing their own headlining shows and summer festivals. For up-to-date tour information and more, please visit: www.DirtyHeads.com and www.ExecutiveMusic.com
