Kenny Wesley sings with the tenderness of a Luther Vandross, and in the same breath, with the agility and freedom of a Stevie Wonder and is fresh off of his performances at the 2010 Capital Jazz Festival (June 4-6) as a background vocalist with "Soul Sista Serenade" featuring Ann Nesby, Elisabeth Withers, & Angela Johnson, and as a featured background vocalist for Grammy-Award Winner Gordon Chambers during the 2010 D.C. Jazz Festival. His newest single, 'Serenity', to be released on his debut CD, is featured on the 2010 Kemp Mill Kool Kats CD Compilation (https://www.kempmillonline.com),
and the original version of 'Serenity' (2008) is soon to be released on The Contemporary Soul Songbook Vol 3 (UK).
Live! On Woodrow Wilson Plaza continues every weekday until September 24th, when it concludes with a special 5:00 p.m. performance by the Godfather of Go-Go, Mr. Chuck Brown. The free series opened with a kick-off performance by the O'Jays on Wednesday, June 9th.
All of the free concerts are played at the Woodrow Wilson Plaza at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, D.C., from 12 noon - 1:30pm June through September.
