Vancouver (Top40 Charts/ Sparkle & Shine) - Local Vancouver 'Love Rock' band, Scatterheart, will be performing two free outdoor shows: Saturday, July 24th at Kitsilano Showboat Stage and Friday, July 30th at PRIDE 2010's Davie Street Mainstage. After selling out 4 huge local shows in the past year, you would think Scatterheart would be upping their ticket prices; However, the band's next two local shows will be free.
Drummer Mike Southworth explains, 'Selling out the Commodore Ballroom was amazing! We set ourselves some pretty high goals for the year and that show surpassed them. We wanted to keep playing locally, but do something different.' This is where the Kitsilano Showboat Stage came in. 'We've always liked the stage but didn't see many people using it,' says Scatterheart bassist Wes DeBoer. 'On a whim we contacted them about putting on a free show and happily they went for it!'.
Scatterheart will perform at 7pm, before the annual Celebration of Light Fireworks display. The band's second free outdoor show will take place at the Davie Street Mainstage (Davie/Burrard) for PRIDE 2010. Jesse Enright, Scatterheart's feathered lead singer, felt it was a great fit. 'PRIDE is all about freedom, fun and positivity and that's we're doing with Scatterheart.' Guitarist Doug Fury elaborates, 'Free outdoor all ages shows fit really well with the vibe and energy of the band. We're trying to make rock music fun and exciting for people of all ages, like it was in the 70s. We want kids and adults alike to sing along and join in the Love Rock Revolution!'
