BURBANK, CA (Top40 Charts/ Avenged Sevenfold Official Website) - The official video for "Nightmare," the new single from Southern California's Avenged Sevenfold, will premiere on MTV2, MTV.com, and MTV2.com this Saturday, July 17th, at 11 a.m.

The "lyric" video that premiered via YouTube at www.avengedsevenfold.com received more than 275,000 plays in 24 hours and has since racked up nearly 2.7 million views. The track, which has sold 128,000 digital singles, is currently at No. 3 on Mediabase's Active Rock chart.

"Nightmare" is the title track to the band's upcoming fifth studio album, which will be released by Warner Bros. Records on July 27th, 2010. Nightmare was produced by Mike Elizondo (Dr. Dre, Eminem) and mixed by noted engineer Andy Wallace. The album has already attracted 8,000 pre-orders through digital retailers and the special edition direct to consumer piece has nearly sold through all of the 7,000 units bringing the album preorder to over 15,000 units.

In August, Avenged Sevenfold will set out co-headlining the first annual Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival with Disturbed. Also on the bill are Stone Sour, Halestorm, and Hell Yeah. The UPROAR tour, which will hit amphitheatres and arenas, marks the band's first tour since the passing of beloved friend and drummer Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan. Mike Portnoy from Dream Theatre plays drums on Nightmare and will also tour with the band for UPROAR.
