September 15-19, 2010 is comprised of more than 150 screenings of films from around the world, a two-day music festival, film and music industry workshops, celebrity studded parties and a marketplace bazaar in the Southern California wine country town of Temecula. 'Kenny Loggins is one of the greatest, prolific singer-songwriter talents of our generation,' states Festival Director Jo Moulton. 'His film work defines the folk and country rock of the 70s, the pop anthemic film soundtrack era of the 80s and adult contemporary sounds of the 90s. Kenny Loggins has consistently demonstrated songwriting savvy and integrity in the music business.'
Loggins will be feted at the Festivals' Black Tie Awards Gala on September 19 at the Pechanga Resort and Casino Grand Ballroom. The star-studded affair will honor significant film and music icons of the past and present with Lifetime and/or Outstanding Career Achievement Awards. Audience Choice Competition Awards for film and music Competition will also be given. The event is open to the public. Tickets are $100. During four decades as a professional singer-songwriter, Kenny Loggins established himself as many things to countless music lovers. Loggins is recognized for such releases as 1977's 'Celebrate Me Home,' and 1978's duet with Stevie Nicks, 'Whenever I Call You Friend,' 1979's 'This Is It,' 1982's 'Don't Fight It' and 'Heart To Heart.' His fame grew with soundtrack pop smashes 'I'm Alright' from CADDYSHACK, 'Footloose' from Footloose, 'Danger Zone' from TOP GUN and 'Nobody's Fool from CADDYSHACK II, as well as USA For Africa's historic benefit recording 'We Are The World, and co-writing the Grammy-winning Song of the Year 'What A Fool Believes.' Most recently, Loggins' has dedicated himself to recording music for children, creating new fans with his hit "Return to Pooh's Corner." Later this year Walt Disney Records will release the family album 'All Join In.'
From September 15-19, 2010 the 16th Annual Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival, sponsored by the City of Temecula, will screen more than 150 films and showcase at least 15 music artists from all across America and around the globe. Produced by the Cinema Entertainment Alliance, a non-profit arts and education organization dedicated to celebrating world cinema and music, the festival has screened more than 1,500 films from over 20 countries since 1995. Temecula is almost equidistant from Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego, California. Screenings will be held at the state of the art Movie Experience 10-plex at the Tower Plaza shopping center in Temecula, CA.
