New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ RoadRunner Records) - Nickelback teamed up with People's Choice to urge fans to nominate potential names for frontman Chad Kroeger's brand new custom Les Paul guitar, and the response was amazing! The band personally narrowed down the selections to three choices, then the online voting commenced. Now, Chad, Nickelback, People's Choice and Gibson are happy to announce the winning moniker: Blackwater!

Exclaims Kroeger, 'I'd like to thank the many thousands of fans that submitted names and then voted on the three finalists in helping me name my new custom Gibson Les Paul signature model. The response was absolutely overwhelming. I'd also like to thank the People's Choice Awards for this amazing opportunity to engage our fans in such a unique and creative way. Creating this custom Gibson Les Paul has been a milestone event for me personally, made all the more special by our fans who were ultimately responsible for voting on the winning name, 'Blackwater.' I can't wait to play the new 'Blackwater' model out on the road for all of you. '
