NEW YORK (Virgin Records press release) - After posting an explosive #2 Soundscan debut last month with their second album Thirteen Step, Virgin recording group A Perfect Circle celebrates 2 weeks for their first No1 alternative single as "Weak and Powerless" takes over the top spot on both the BDS and Mediabase charts. In its 13th week out, the track moves up to No2 on the Active Rock side on both charts; and advances inside the top 10 on the Rock lists.

Anticipation is building towards the Halloween opening (at Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Texas) of A Perfect Circle's next round of arena concert dates across the country. (Please see tour schedule below in this press release.) The itinerary follows a wildly successful (and very exclusive) two week warm-up tour of clubs around the country in late-July/August, which was followed by a round of Lollapalooza dates.

Described by Rolling Stone as "that rare supergroup of veteran musicians that actually adds up to more, not less, than the sum of its parts," APC intro?duced new member James Iha into the lineup during their late-summer shows. He joined core members Maynard James Keenan, Billy Howerdel , bassist Jeordie White and drummer Josh Freese.

"A Perfect Circle... a supergroup," echoed the New York Post in its review of their capacity gig at Irving Plaza in New York City in August. Five nights later at the Metro The Chicago Tribune cheered "the latest recruits in an all-star cast that sounded remarkably tight and appeared to have genuine chemistry."
