Pandora Radio, Exceeding Spins for Bob Dylan's Iconic 'Knockin' On Heaven's Door' by 1.2 Million
Relix Magazine Predicts: Band is 'On The Verge'
Roots Rock band Barefoot Truth will embark on a major U.S. Tour this Fall, as they build on the tremendous growth seen in the months since their last CD, 'Threads' (hailed as 'the best independently released CD of 2010') debuted at No 21 on iTUNES' Rock Chart. While on tour, the band will also preview tracks from their upcoming Spring 2011 album, which they are currently working on in the studio.
The Mystic, Connecticut-based five-piece has evolved from local heroes to national stars in 2010, and is featured in the "On the Verge" section of Relix Magazine's Sept-Oct issue. In another sign of their cross-country appeal, the song "Threads" will soon be available on the Rock Band Network as a 'Rock Band' song, complete with characters and full graphics. More details will be announced soon.

More about Barefoot Truth:
Barefoot Truth started as an acoustic duo and has grown steadily to its current make-up as a five-piece rock/pop band. Their live shows are infectious, their songs are hook-heavy, and their youthful energy makes listeners believe that, yes, maybe each of us can indeed make a positive impact on one other and on our planetIn fact, the band says the concept behind their accalimed CD 'Threads' was nothing less than 'universal consciousness.'
Based in Mystic, Connecticut, members of Barefoot Truth actually live together, and have done so since 2007. The band features Will Evans on drums and lead vocals, Andy Wrba on upright bass, Jay Driscoll on Weissenborn slide guitar, Garrett Duffy on harmonica, and John Waynelovich on piano.
Roots-rock band Barefoot Truth earned raves for their recent CD 'Threads', with critics praising it as 'the best independently released album of 2010,' 'a funky roots/folk album that will have you nodding your head and stamping your foot in no time,' and having 'a diverse and exciting sound.' EXPRESS (A publication of THE WASHINGTON POST) highlighted the band, saying 'The Revolution Will be Shoeless: Barefoot Truth defines 'earthy-rock'. Hailing from Mystic, Conn, the quintet bring socially conscious lyrics, an embracement of a 'universal consciousness' and a deep desire to change the world through righteous string-heavy tunes.'
Other coverage of 'Threads' was equally favorable (see below). With increasing media and fan support, Barefoot Truth continues to lay claim to a bona fide indie success story - and now, news of their remarkable 6.4 million spins on PANDORA RADIO cements their upward trajectory. Their Pandora success, documented by USA TODAY in this article, featured an interview with BFT's Jay Driscoll:
USA TODAY 1/10 (excerpt):
That kind of discovery can be powerful for young musicians. Jay Driscoll, guitarist for indie band Barefoot Truth, submitted one of the band's CDs (Pandora's only requirement for band submissions is a CD available for purchase on Amazon.com) and started getting played on the service. One song in particular, Roll if Ya Fall, started showing up on stations created for fans of Bob Dylan, Jack Johnson and Dave Matthews. "All of a sudden, people we had never met before were buying our music online and asking us to play in their cities," Driscoll says. "Then we started seeing strangers singing the words to the songs at our shows." The song has received more than 3 million plays on Pandora and gotten the band gigs up and down the East Coast. "Pandora has basically created an avenue for us to have a career in music," Driscoll says. https://www.usatoday.com/tech/products/2010-01-12-pandora-free-radio_N.htm.

This Is Modern CD review:
'The best independently released album of 2010!'
'Roots rock music is a special type of genre of music. It's a cross between traditional American rock and roll and sixties folk music, with an emphasis on organic sounds and instrumentation. Barefoot Truth is a prime example of what it is to be a great roots rock band. Barefoot Truth, on the heels of this album, are poised to fill the void left by the breakup of independent roots rock legends Dispatch. The album has a handful of excellent tracks that showcase their live band sound in the studio. "Damage Done" is an updated version of an older track that is one of the harder rockers on the album, preceded by a didgeridoo-filled instrumental track "JaJu Call." The star of the disc is "Spoonful," which is incredibly heavy on acoustic guitar and shows off the band's love for reggae music. "All Good Reasons," a previously released single, appears on the album and has already become a classic Barefoot Truth tune. "From The Earth" and "Roots Of Stone" show off their earthy jam band qualities and are sure to become staples of their live setlists. Horns and harmonica are also found throughout the album, adding yet another layer to the band's already intricate orchestration. So far, this is the best independently released album of 2010, and it's so good it may still be come year's end.'
