Boston Rapper Slaine Helps Bring The Gritty Streets Of Boston To Life On The Big Screen In Ben Affleck's 'The Town' & On Upcoming Solo Hip-hop Album

Burbank, CA (Top40 Charts/ Suburban Noize Records) - After years of grinding his way through the streets of Boston, not only as an emcee, but as an aspiring actor, Slaine is making 2010 his year to shine. The Boston native plays a key role in the gritty crime drama "The Town", alongside Ben Affleck and Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker), which opened at the No. 1 spot at the box office this past weekend.

Affleck discovered Slaine after reading about his exploits as a local rapper in Boston newspapers. Affleck was looking to cast the part of a Dorchester thug in his directorial debut "Gone Baby Gone" and offered him an audition. Slaine nailed the audition, as his thick Boston accent and intimidating physical appearance made him a perfect fit for the role. When it came time to depict the gritty Boston suburb of Charlestown in 'The Town', Affleck recruited Slaine to lend the film a sense of realism and add street credibility to the character.

While his acting career is soaring to new heights, Slaine is preparing to infiltrate the hip-hop scene with the release of his debut solo album, "A World With No Skies". The album, which drops on October 26th through Suburban Noize Records, depicts the harsh reality of life on the streets of Boston. The album is dark hip-hop that hits squarely in the jaw and features some of the genre's most respected emcees, including Everlast, ILL BILL, Cypress Hill's B-Real, DJ Lethal, Vinnie Paz of Jedi Mind Tricks, and Statik Selektah.

"Music and acting are different art forms, but they both are methods of storytelling," commented Slaine. "When you're writing music, you are the writer, director and main character, but instead of being in front of a camera you're behind a microphone telling a story with music."

Slaine' new single "99 Bottles" was released digitally on iTunes at in conjunction with the release of 'The Town'. The song also appears in the movie, providing a dark soundtrack for the film.
