Boston, MA (Top40 Charts/ Maelstrom PR) - "The reality is that I take myself and my work far too seriously to feel any real sense of excitement," states band member and lead singer Jeff Glazier of the band A Raven's Sorrow.
"I feel like I'm on a self-imposed mission headed for a crash and that it's far too late to put on the brakes."

Recently Jeff was contacted by producer Sylvia Massy (Tool, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Powerman 5000) asking if they would be interested in working together on their upcoming album titled "Chrysalis," an offer which Jeff and the rest of the band accepted. Glazier further states: "I feel that Sylvia can bring to the table the expertise to help make sure that crash happens." Their studio date is scheduled for October 31st at Massy's own RadioStar Studios in Weed CA.

"This project really caught my ear!" states Massy. "I'm excited to get in the studio with A Raven's Sorrow because I think they have written a catalog of music like nothing else before. Think of Pink Floyd The Wall meets Captain Beefheart. This project goes places that no one else dares."

"Sylvia has such enthusiasm for our music and has shown an understanding of what we're trying to accomplish," says keyboardist Jason Percival.
"I'm looking forward to working with someone of such caliber in developing the sounds and feeling that will define A Raven's Sorrow."

The Boston-based group has been featured on a number of podcast and radio outlets in the Northeast and are known for their controversial outlook on life itself and whether or not it is worth living. "What started this band in motion was the drive to present to the world an album - a concept or idea, really - that Jeff wrote with me some time ago," states keyboardist Percival. "With such overwhelming emotion and bitter honesty, we questioned whether people would be willing to experience this. But we believe there are people in this world who are waiting to hear this music, people who face the same demons as do we. It is validating to know that Sylvia recognizes something in this music that warrants some attention. I believe that Sylvia's influence in developing the details will be beneficial, and am eager to begin the chemistry that will inevitably happen once we're all in the studio together.

The new album "Chrysalis" is scheduled for a December 2010 release.
