Joe Nichols Hopes Things Shape Up Well As A '5th Grader'

Nashville, TN (Top40 Charts/ Joe Nichols Official Website) - Tune in to watch Joe Nichols get schooled tonight on CMT - he'll be a contestant as part of this week's country music week of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? (tomorrow's guest(s) is/are the group Trailer Choir).
The singer's current single "The Shape I'm In" is his second consecutive single written by the same writers: Rhett Akins, Ben Hayslip, and Dallas Davidson. The first was the No. 1 hit "Gimme That Girl."
Both are on his current album Old Things New (also the album home to the single "Believers"), which remains new-ish - released in 2009. No word on if he was schooled about any shapes, although the show does encircle a lot of cash. He'll play to win some for Camp Barnabas, which he chose because his younger sister has attended the camp for several years and who he says looks forward to it all year long.

"5th Grader" airs at 5:30 and 11:30 central time tonight, with repeat airings likely on the horizon. (By the way, if you happen to live in the Nashville area and your Comcast cable program guide informs you that these two airings are Trailer Choir instead of Joe, trust me - they're wrong).
