NEW YORK (MTV/Evanscence Fans Websites) - " My Immortal" is the latest Evanescence single/video, may offer clues to the recent departure of founding guitarist and songwriter Ben Moody, according to MTV.com. In the clip, which is scheduled to premiere later this month, Moody reportedly looks sullen and depressed, and plays piano by himself in a room that's separated from the rest of the group. The clip was shot in Barcelona, Spain, two weeks before the guitarist left the band in Germany and flew home to the States. Singer Amy Lee said about the video, "[It's] all about separation...I wanted it to depict real human sadness." The single version of "My Immortal" is different from the version on the band's debut album, Fallen. The album version is actually a demo that features only Lee and Moody. It was put on the album by the band's label, against their wishes. The single version features the full band, as well as a string section arranged by David Campbell, father of alternative rocker Beck. Ben Moody reportedly met with executives from the band's label, Wind-Up Records, on Wednesday (November 5) in Los Angeles, to determine his future with the group. The band has been continuing their European tour with second guitarist John LeCompt handling all guitar duties. A U.S. tour is scheduled to kick off on November 21 in Tucson, Arizona, with dates through December 7 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The band is also scheduled to perform at the 31st annual American Music Awards, airing live on ABC-TV at 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 16. Fallen was just certified triple platinum in the United States for sales of over three million copies.
