Montvale, NJ (Top40 Charts/ Haebangchon Music Festival Official Website) - The Haebangchon Music Festival, or HBC Fest. Held twice a year attracts in excess of over fifty live performing acts spread over nine venues. The festival is a local neighborhood initiative guided by Lance Reegan-Diehl who has been the central organizer since day one. The festival is considered as 'a gift' to the people from the local businesses who want to thank their regular customers and also invite other people, into the HBC 'hood' who normally wouldn't venture down from Itaewon, to sample the delights offered in Liberation Village.

When it first started back in the summer of 2006, the festival pulled together around twenty three acts in three bars. The three bars, Phillies, Orange Tree and Ssen (now Phillies Basement), have been joined by the V.F.W. (2007), Jakoby's, HBC Caf (both 2009) and Le Verte(2010), the newest venue to, give patrons a great diversity of choice.

The list of performers is always changing as expat's come and go. There are always new acts and new faces and this is what makes the HBC Festival's special. Looking down the list of this year's performers alot of acts have played the Fest at least once, and many have come back to play in new or different bands, or on their own as a solo musicians. As people come and go, the festival constantly seeks to find new talents and new experiences.
Here's a list of some of the performers who have already confirmed they will be playing:

Shotgun Mascara, Flite 20 rock, Drunk and Disorderly, Solitaire Love Affair,
Neoteen Idols, The Tremors, Fully Completely, Lance Reegan-Diehl Band,
Kenji Onizuka, John Valentine, Backus, Yvon Malenfant, The Two Guitars
Chris Wright, CJ Gardner, Josh Roy, The Space Rhyme Continuum, Johnny Red,
Simon and Kerry, Zak Calloway.

The festival's influence is now spreading beyond its borders. Itaewon's bars, Rocky Mountain Tavern, and Ole Stompers are also taking part by hosting bands which will have played at the festival during the day. It's all part of an all day initiative to keep Seoul rocking!

Also, to celebrate the fine musical talents of the performers over the past four years, Lance, who also owns DEELEEBOB Music Group in Haebangchon, has arranged for a compilation CD of songs from performers through the years. The CD will be sold onsite. Fest Tshirts are at KRW10,000($10USD) or Tshirt and CD at KRW15,000 ($15USD)The CD is KRW8,000 ($8USD).

This year's Haebangchon Fall Music Festival will take place on October 9th 2010 and will kick off at 12pm. With BBQ's and the music starts from 1pm until 12am. If you'd like more information you can find more at our website. www.hbcfest.com
