Port Jefferson, NY (Top40 Charts/ Omni Awards) - The Omni Youth Music and Actor Awards recognizes the talents of professional and amateur youth actors and singers from California, and features songs and skits by award nominees in a lively black tie gala. The 7-year-old annual awards show also honors adult actors and singers for their contributions to youth in the performing arts. This year, Omni will recognize Academy Award winning actor Lou Gossett Jr.; Acclaimed Hispanic Actor Tony Plana, recently known for "Ugly Betty"; and Leading Australian Opera Singer John Davies.

Past Omni Award Alumni have gone on to professional success in the entertainment industry including winning a Tony Award (Kiril Kulish in 2009), starring in daytime soap roles (Eric Martsolf in Day of Our Lives; Aaron Refvem in General Hospital), and many others who currently work in film and television series including iCarly, Hanna Montana, House M.D., Entourage, I can Do Bad All by Myself.


The "Beyond the Bell" branch of the Los Angeles Unified School District is the 2010 Omni Awards sponsor. The Omni Awards was founded by Marlene Dove, the daughter of the late Opera singer Bertha Savage.
