NEW YORK (Steve Wynn Official Website/Atlantic records press release) - While finishing up his own set of dates in Europe in October, Steve Wynn got the news that fellow rocker Ryan Adams wanted Wynn to open for him on his own European tour dates. The slot was by direct invitation from Adams, who is said to have listened quite a bit to "The Days of Wine and Roses" (the album by the Dream Syndicate, the band Wynn fronted in the '80s) during the making of his new album "Rock And Roll." Wynn is on the road in support of "Static Transmission," the album he released on July 8th of this year. Like its immediate predecessor, the critically-acclaimed double album "Here Come The Miracles," "Transmission" was recorded in Tucson, Arizona at Wavelab Studios with producer/engineer Craig Schumacher (Calexico, Giant Sand). Performing on the album are Steve's core band (dubbed the Miracle 3) of Jason Victor (guitars), Dave DeCastro (bass) and Linda Pitmon (drums), along with guest keyboardist Chris Cacavas (Green On Red, Giant Sand). The album was released in Europe on Blue Rose Records. Magnet magazine has named "Static Transmission" as one of the Top 20 albums of 2003 in their forthcoming Year In Music issue. Fresh from his European tour with Ryan Adams, U.S. fans of Wynn's lucky enough to be on the West Coast can catch him when San Francisco's The Parkside hosts Wynn and his Miracle 3 on December 5th. He also returns to his original L.A. stomping grounds for two shows at the Knitting Factory on December 6th and 7th (www.stevewynn.net).
