NASHVILLE, Tenn. (DreamWorks press release) - DreamWorks Nashville recording group
Emerson Drive is more than excited about their upcoming winter tour schedule. The band has been asked to open for
Shania Twain on the American leg of her UP! tour throughout the late fall and early winter 2003.
"We have been having such a fantastic time on the road with Shania that when we received the news that we picked up more shows touring with her in the United States, we were thrilled!" shares lead vocalist Brad Mates. "This tour was a huge dream for us and it doesn't get better than this."
Emerson Drive has two Top 5 singles, "I Should Be Sleeping" and "Fall Into Me" from their self-titled debut album (released 5/21/02). The Academy of Country Music awarded the group the Top New Vocal Group or Duo Award earlier this year. They have also been named the Group or Duo of the Year for the last two years by the Canadian Country Music Association. Nominations for a Juno Award (for Country Recording of the Year) and a CMT Flameworthy Award (for Breakthrough Video of the Year) round out their list of recent accomplishments.
The band is currently finishing their sophomore album for DreamWorks Nashville with producer Richard Marx for early 2004 release with their first single from the album expected for release in January 2004.
