Miami, FL (TOP40 Charts/ Jaybird Communications, LL) -- The Miami Music Festival and Conference (MMF), Miami's second annual emerging musical artist showcase, and the centerpiece event of this November's new "Miami Live Music Month," announced today that the all-star rock group Corky Laing & The Memory Thieves will perform and make their U.S. debut at this year's festival.

The group was formed by Mountain's Corky Laing, The Spin Doctor's Eric Schenkman, Malcolm Bruce of West, Bruce Jr. and Laing, and Josh Horton of BIG SUGA. The band is scheduled to perform on Friday, November 12th at Charcoal Studios located at 2135 Northwest 1st Avenue.

"We couldn't be more excited that Corky Laing, who pioneered a renowned Woodstock act, performed with Jack Bruce in West, Bruce and Laing, toured with Frampton, and wrote with Ian Hunter, is now launching a new act at the MMF. The band joins over 350 developing and established acts from all over the United States and the world performing new music," said festival CEO Irwin Kornfeld.

Other notables artists scheduled to perform include 2AM Club and Jared Evan. The hotly anticipated debut RCA release What Did You Think Was Going to Happen? from eclectic rockers 2AM Club was released in September, and their performances on Friday, November 12 at Transit Lounge and Saturday, November 13 at The Stage, marks their first shows in Miami. Rising hip hop artist Jared Evan, whose debut Zone4/Interscope single "In Love With You" was featured on HBO's Entourage this summer, will perform at The Stage on Saturday, November 13.

More featured MMF artists will be announced soon. The current schedule of performances and ticket information is available on the MMF website, www.miamimusicfestival.org.

About the Miami Music Festival

The second annual Miami Music Festival is a four-day, multi-stage event and emerging artists' conference taking place November 11-14, 2010. The festival, which is open to the public, will be held at various venues across Miami, featuring a variety of music genres by musicians hailing from Florida, the U.S. and around the world. The Miami Music Festival conference for emerging artists at the Hyatt Regency Miami will offer a series of panels, master classes, workshops and interactive sessions designed to give musicians hands-on instruction and information about navigating the new music industry. In 2009, the festival entertained 18,000 people with 270 acts across 75 shows and 25 stages. This November, the Miami Music Festival will serve as the centerpiece of "Live Music Month in Miami," the city's cooperative effort to support live music and emerging artists.
