New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Only Won Official Website) - Asian-American rap artist, Only Won, released a new music video, 'Lyrical Engineer' in support of his album The Lyrical Engineer. The video chronicles Only Won's double life as a mechanical engineer and hip-hop star. Known for his witty and unusual lyrics, 'Lyrical Engineer' does not disappoint in delivering fun visuals to accompany rhymes about everything from thermodynamics to Atari. Numerous science, math and gadget references make it an anthem for the 'technically-minded' around the world.
A top-notch team was assembled for the making of this video. Shot in HD, the music video was directed and edited by Emmy award winner, Marlon Jones, who has previously worked on projects BET, CNBC and WB Worldwide TV. Clifford Jones, the director of photography, most recently lensed the feature film, 'To Save a Life' and has worked on numerous music videos for artists such as Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. He has also worked on TV shows such as 24 and The Secret Life of an American Teenager.
Born in San Francisco and raised in Sacramento, CA, Only Won brings a refreshing angle to the current music landscape. Only Won gained a cult following for his clever music video, 'Cantonese Boy', a personal re-imagining of the hit song, 'American Boy' by Estelle and Kanye West. This year, Only Won released his first full-length album, 'The Lyrical Engineer.' He collaborated with many hip-hop veterans such as Noel, from the Grammy nominated group, The Dynamic Twins and beat box champ, Maximillian Reynolds, who produced the title track. The new album allows Only Won's rhymes to cover a broad musical landscape that includes not only current Hip-Hop beats but R&B, Reggae and Gospel.
