Gramming Award Winning Producer Little Louie Vega Pays Tribute To Salsa Legend Hector Lavoe

New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Victory2 Multimedia) - Louie Vega will be spinning a special two-hour set of Hector Lavoe and Fania hits, as well as conducting a live performance by THE ELEMENTS OF LIFE band at Louie Vega's Afterwork Tribute To Hector Lavoe.

'On this special evening we are all coming together to honor the life and works of a man whose musical contributions have been and still are felt and celebrated all over the world,' said representatives of the event. 'Hector Lavoe's spirit lives on our dance floors and for November 10th we will showcase [his] music for all to experience what has made him a true legend.'

Lavoe is a legend of the salsa scene who combined salsa music with jazz, Puerto Rican bombas, plenas, orisa, baquine y aginaldos, cumbia, merengue, and other Latin American music. He released 10 albums with collaborator Willie Colon before making hits on his own, including "El Cantante," "Periodico De Ayer," and "Plato De Segunda Mesa."

Louie Vega's Afterwork Tribute to Hector Lavoe goes from 7pm to 4am on Wednesday, November 10 at Cielo. Cielo is located at 18 Little West 12 Street in New York 's trendy Meatpacking District. Guests are advised to arrive early, with free admission and open vodka bar available from 7pm to 8pm. Admission costs $20 after 11pm.
