Minneapolis, MN (Top40 Charts/ MakeMusic) - MakeMusic, Inc. (NASDAQ: MMUS), a world leader in music technology, announced additions to the accompaniment library included with SmartMusic, the interactive music software for band, orchestra and voice. Added were 128 large ensemble pieces, including 106 concert band titles, ten jazz ensemble titles, twelve string orchestra titles and a book of holiday solos.
These additions offer diversity, with titles from more than two dozen publishers, as well as popularity, with works from well-known composers including Mark Williams, Robert W. Smith, Robert Sheldon, Anne McGinty, Samuel Hazo and more.
'While our repertoire development is ongoing, we publish new additions in batches, so these titles represent many weeks of intense development,' said Jeff Koch, interim chief executive officer. 'They also represent significant additions to our accompaniment library. For band and orchestra directors, repertoire is curriculum. The accompaniment titles included with SmartMusic not only impact what they play at contest and concerts, but also what they practice every day, and today's additions continue to expand the vast depth and breadth of the SmartMusic library.'
The SmartMusic library, the largest accompaniment library in the world, contains 29 method books, more than 7,700 solos (including popular music), thousands of practice exercises, more than 2,400 band and orchestra titles and 18 jazz improvisation collections.
