New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ RoadRunner Records) - Guitar Center is on the hunt to select America's next great undiscovered drummer in a nationwide competition: Guitar Center's Drum-Off.
The ongoing beats battle consisting of more than 4,000 drummers nationwide culminates in a final event slated for Saturday, January 8th, 2011 at The Music Box, Henry Fonda Theater in Hollywood, CA.

While five of the countries best are competing for the coveted title of Guitar Center Drum-Off Champion and a grand prize package valued at over $40,000, there's also a line-up of special performances by music's most legendary drummers on the menu.

Hosted by Stephen Perkins (Jane's Addiction), headlining the show with an eclectic jazz infused project is Steve Smith (Vital Information, Journey), who Rolling Stone named one of the greatest drummers of all time. Other performers include Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo, who will take the stage with Philm as his backing band plus two special guests to play a percussive ensemble music set, and a rare collaboration by Gavin Harrison (of British prog-rockers Porcupine Tree) and Simon Phillips (who has played with and alongside artists including Mick Jagger, Brian Eno and Jeff Beck among others).
