New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - The Low Anthem just completed a ten-city East Coast tour with music legend Emmylou Harris. In addition to previewing tracks from its new album, 'Smart Flesh' (Feb 22/Nonesuch), the band was joined on many nights by Harris taking lead vocal on 'To Ohio' from their critically acclaimed 2009 album 'Oh My God, Charlie Darwin' (Nonesuch). Harris also regularly invited the band back out to join her encore sets as well. Harris has also invited The Low Anthem to join her at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on December 11 for a Grand Ole Opry performance. Check out some of the reviews coming in from the road: 'Dazzling.'- Hartford Courant 'A serene set that was at times spiritual, others comical, and always compelling.' - Buffalo Rising 'The Rhode Island group's very distinctive instrumentation...blended seamlessly with their radiant four-part harmonies.' - Springfield Republican 'When Emmylou Harris invited her opening act the Low Anthem to help her sing her encore of 'Evangeline'...it was with the pride of a mentor, and they sang with youthful power and full recognition of the honor.' - The Daily Gazette (Schenectady, NY) 'The group plays on an ever-changing palette of instruments, from horn to electric guitar to hammered dulcimer and even cell phones.' - Albany Times Union The Low Anthem has already announced several fall/winter tour dates with more to be added soon.
