NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Dead Butterflies Offical Website) - This band formed in Southwestern Ontario, Canada and started to write together in May of 2010. The first batch of original tracks written and created by Johnny Mc-Vocals/Guitars, structured by
George Panayi-Bass Guitar and
Martin Tom-Drums/Percussion has quickly come together in what will be the band's debut, upcoming EP titled "The Side Effect Sessions".
The EP is being recorded and pressed over a two month period, beginning on November 9th 2010 at various locales throughout Woodstock, Stratford and Mitchell in Ontario, Canada. Although the budget (as with most bands) is a bit of an issue (yep, no $350,000.00 budget folks, sorry) the band feels very confident that with the key people involved in the recording, such as Ted Schinbein from Schinbein's Music, Toronto Sound Engineer Ross Whitney and the final mastering done by Metalworks Studios in Mississauga, that this album is going to turn out with the same high quality as any you would buy in a record store these days.
As well, with the norm of the industry being to now offer fans free singles for download, the band agreed that this should remain an important first step and has released two songs from the upcoming EP. "Put It On" in the form of a live rehearsal Video and "ComeBackDown" from the numerous collection of pre-production demos. They are currently available on the band's Official MySpace at https://www.myspace.com/thedeadbutterflies
The official 6 song tracks are listed below in their decided order, as what will be on The Side Effect Sessions EP.
The Coward Song
Put It On
ComeBackDown
Lucky
December Flames (Burn On)
Somethings
The group also voted in favor of the album being in physical CD format as well as pay per download (CD Baby, iTunes) due out for worldwide release around Christmas time 2010.
As for music style, this is something we feel is redundant to try and label. It's much more fun for the listener to interpret this themselves. If we are going to be forced to submit a label to our art, let's just say it's in the vein of Rock N' Roll and be done with it. We'd prefer that you decide for yourself. Please.
We also invite you to stay in tune with The Dead Butterflies - to come and befriend us at https://www.myspace.com/thedeadbutterflies - your opinions, feedback and intelligent ideas on art/music and the world we live in are all highly valuable to us.
