New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Mazur PR) - Already a household name in Europe, Hafdis Huld is poised to reach the same stardom in America with the release of her second solo album, "Syncronised Swimmers," on OK!Good Records. The platinum pop chanteuse is as quirky as she is beautiful. The Icelandic native uses her distinctly delicate voice to bring vibrancy to the stories she tells on "Syncronised Swimmers." The folky-pop style of the album has an organic feel that lends itself equally well to live performances with a full band or a single bandmate accompanying acoustically.

"I am very happy that my album is now being released in America," Hafdis said. "I hope I get to go over there soon and play some gigs and eat lots blueberry pancakes!"

"Synchronised Swimmers" was co-produced by French Grammy-winning producer Calum MacColl and Alisdair Wright, and recorded by the legendary engineer Phill Brown (Rolling Stones, Robert Plant, Talk Talk). It reached Number 2 on the Icelandic album charts, only kept out of the top spot by the untimely death of Michael Jackson. The album has also generated three Number One singles in her home territory ("Kongulo," "Action Man," "Synchronised Swimmers"). The track "Daisy" has been used by the national airline Iceland Air in its 2010 advertising campaign.

Born in Reykjavik, Iceland, Hafdis began her career at the young age of 15, touring and recording with the iconic Icelandic eletro-collective Gus Gus. After two world tours, she left the band to collaborate with chill-out electronic outfit F C Kahuna. She later studied music at the London Centre of Contemporary Music, graduating with Distinction in 2006.

Hafdis' debut solo album, "Dirty Paper Cup," was released in October of the same year, and included collaborations with highly respected co-writers, including Jim Abbiss, Boo Hewerdine, Pascal Gabriel, and Chris Corner. The album got great reviews from critics including, received national radio play on BBC Radio 1, Radio 2, and 6 Music, and won the Icelandic Music Award in 2007 for Best Pop Album. She was a featured vocalist on Tricky's album "Knowle West Boy" in 2008.
