Marilyn Manson Faces Felony Sexual Assault For Headlock With Security Guard

Detroit (Top 40 Charts) - Shock-rocker Marilyn Manson is facing a felony sexual assault charge following a concert at DTE Energy Theater in Clarkston, Mich., near Detroit, on July 30.

According to Oakland County Prosecuting Attorney David Gorcyca, a warrant for Manson's arrest was authorized by his office and issued out of Clarkston's 52-2 District Court on Thursday (Aug. 16). The two-count warrant includes one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct - a two-year felony -- and one count of assault and battery.
Gorcyca says that, under Michigan law, fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct entails non-consensual touching of a sexual nature. "[Manson] was wearing a G-string and he approached [the security guard] from behind. The security guard is basically there for his [Manson's] protection," Gorcyca says. "As he began masturbating over the G-string, as he got closer he spit on the guard. He then placed him in a headlock with his legs, and began rubbing his genitals on his head and neck area."

Gorcyca says a report was filed with the Oakland County Sheriff's Department two days after the alleged incident. A formal arraignment date has not been set. The prosecutor says the warrant was issued based on statements from the allegedly assaulted guard and several other security guards said to have witnessed the alleged assault.
"We are attempting to initiate contact with an attorney or his public relations person in order to agree on a date to have him arraigned," Gorcyca says.

Manson's management and security representatives for the DTE Energy Theater could not be reach for comment at press time.
